John McCain chose the opposite posture and lower expectations by praising Obama's eloquence.

But those expectations may have been to high at that time and his speech good, but not enough good, not surprising enough to come up to them, as the post DNC bounce in the polls may suggest, since it was minor than the post RNC one...
